Originally thought to be a farmstead it boasts a famous stained glass dome whose origins are not quite clear, but whose splendour remains non the less.

Had dinner with my wife son and mother. This place was great. Waiters were just right. There when you needed them. The food was spot on. Not a single item was wrong. Loved it so much I’m going back on Saturday.

Have visited the Sparrow Hawk several times in the past over several years but this is my first review. On this visit I ordered the ribeye steak and a large glass of Malbec. The 250ml is not on the drinks menu but I asked for this and it was provided.
The steak was lovely. A bit fatty but ribeye is and the fat is needed for the flavour. The steak was well seasoned and tasted accordingly. I like mine rare. It was fine for me. Good portion of onion rings and two tomatoes. One large mushroom, agin well seasoned and very tasty. Chips were nice but a bit varied in their colour and a few looked a little burnt. But for £20 it was excellent and very competitively priced. Service was friendly and attentive. Will continue to visit as have never had a bad meal or bad experience here.
